Submission Instruction
Journal of Mechanical Strength is an academic and technical journal supervised by China Machinery Industry Federation and sponsored by China Academy of Machinery Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. It mainly publishes research articles, reviews or newsletters with innovative, economic and practical meaning in the research and application fields of machinery, strength, vibration and material strength.
Section 1 Publishing Scope
Journal of Mechanical Strength was founded in May 1975, monthly issued. The publishing scope covers mechanical structure strength, micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS), reliability, optimization design, mechanical design, calculation methods, fatigue, damage, fracture, vibration, noise, fault diagnosis and monitoring, testing technology, detection and evaluation, testing instruments, experimental stress analysis, residual stress, failure analysis and related interdisciplinary subjects. Columns include Vibration•Noise•Monitoring•Diagnosis, Experimental Research, Optimization•Reliability, Design•Calculation, Weld•Casting•Forge•Thermal Material, Fatigue•Damage•Fracture•Failure Analysis, Research Notes, etc.
Multiple submission is not allowed. Please advise the editorial office if the submitted article has been presented on a conference or some content of the article has been published elsewhere.
Please make a statement if the research of the article has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other key national or ministerial projects, or has received national or ministerial awards. The journal will give publishing priority to articles belonging to National Key Scientific and Technological Research Projects, NSFC projects, provincial or ministerial level research funding projects and articles with significant theoretical or applicational value.
Section 2 Fees
A review fee of RMB 200 yuan will be charged for manuscripts that meet the basic requirements of the journal (the article number should be noted when remitting). Once the review fee is received, the manuscript will be sent out for external peer review. Generally, review results will be returned to authors within 45 days. Page charges shall be payable before publication (400 Yuan/page).
Section 3 Copyright
(1) Journal of Mechanical Strength is an open access journal. Once published, all articles will be immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge. Permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material. The authors have right to spread or make use of the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. (2) The editorial office would make wording amendments to the accepted articles. Authors shall be responsible for their own writing. Multiple submission is not allowed.
(3) Authors should sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement and transfer the copyright of the article to the editorial office of the journal, including the right of compilation, translation, reproduction for print and online versions, and information online dissemination. The term of copyright transfer is the same as the term of copyright protection. The transfer is applicable worldwide.
(4) The journal is indexed by a number of third-party databases. The authorization fee would be paid together with the remuneration of publishing. Submission to this journal will be deemed as agreed to the database inclusion of the article unless otherwise stated by authors.
(5) Since 2015, all journal articles have been digitally archived and can be searched and downloaded from the journal website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. Before 2015, the hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal had been kept in the editorial office for archiving. In addition, other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors.
Section 4 Writing Requirement
(1) The article should have cutting-edge topic, sound background, sufficient argument, clear points, reliable data, and good structure. Main results should be presented.
(2) The writing of manuscript shall be standardized. Chinese characters should be in accordance with Simplified Chinese Character Table. Units of measurement should be in accordance with international standard.
(3) Manuscript should be in Word (2003 edition) format, which shall include: article title, author names, institutes, abstract, keywords (5-8 words), CLC Number, English title, author names in Chinese Pinyin, English translation of institutes, English abstract and keywords, introduction, main body text, and references.
(4) For the convenience of database indexing, abstracts should be independent and self-evident with enough detail, well reflecting the content of the article, so that readers can learn about key information of the article without reading the full text. Abstracts should include three parts: objective, process and method, conclusion. First-person perspective should be avoided. For English abstract, sentences should be concise and logical. Past tense should be used to describe research work and present tense for describing results. Wordcount should exceed 150.
(5) In-text figures and tables should be informative and placed in the main body text. Headings of figures and tables, coordinate axes and variables should be both in Chinese and English.
(6)References should be listed at the end of the article (do not quote unpublished materials). The format of references should comply with Information and Documentation—Rules for Bibliographic References and Citations to Information Resources (GB/T 7714-2015). For details, please refer to the Manuscript Template at our website http://www.jxqd.net.cn. Chinese literatures in the references list should be translated into English, which should be put beneath the Chinese following the same serial numbers. “(In Chinese)” should be added at the end of the English translation.
(7) At the end of the manuscript, the author's gender, date of birth, birth place (including province, city or county), nationality, institute, professional title, position, degree, academic experience, research field and main achievements shall be noted. Detailed address, E-mail, and telephone number should be provided.
